More info on www.bagadpaysdesabers.com There will also be so other kind of music during the festival:RED CARDELLRed Cardell is one of the best known bands in Brittainy, France, where the traditional music, essentially celtic, remains an important part of popular culture. The band, comprising Jean Michel MOAL(accordeon),Manu MASKO(drums and samples) and Jean Pierre RIOU (guitar and vocal) was formed in the town of Quimper 14 years ago. The band's original idea was to blend Breton music, Punk rock and French realistic songs, these being their early influences but other styles such as Electro, Eastern Europe, South American and North African eventually crept into the general sound. RED CARDELL, originally a "pub" band, have since developed into a concert band playing regularly on the biggest festivals. After playing more than 1500 concerts in France, Germany, Switzerland and Finland, among others and releasing 7 albums, the last entitled "Bal à l'Ouest", RED CARDELL are now firmly established. www.redcardell.com/ The Churchfitters (Playing at the Tuesdays of Plouescat) Based in Brittany since 1993, the Churchfitters is one of the most inspired groups on the folk scene today. Their energetic and festive show unites the rythmns of rock and pop with the universal appeal of traditionnal music. Three explosive voices and the use of a dozen or so acoustic instruments (fiddle, guitar, double bass, flute, banjo, dulcimer, mandoline, saxophone...) allow them a rich musical language with which to express their varied programme of songs and melodies from Ireland, Scotland, Québec, England, USA and their own compositions. With their flamboyant personalities, Rosie and Chris Short from London, Topher Loudon from Belfast and Boris Lebret from Brittany present their unique show with good humour and a sense of fun delighting audiences at festivals, concert halls and theatres throughought France and Europe whenever they play. This is what Roots says : " Musically an experimental bunch, Churchfitters are unafraid to mix up and upset the apple cart splicing bits of baroque, jazz, classical and World music influences into their traditional ballad stew. While staying close to their material's melodic roots the overall feel and musical inclinations recall elements of early Incredible String Band with a dozen or so acoustic instruments and varied influences in the pot." www.churchfitters.com Every day there will be events to suit every taste in wonderful surroundings. |
